Community Rules
MyRoomee is a free room and house board for the Burmese community in the USA, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and Myanmar. These rules keep it safe for everyone.
1. Verify your face photo
Your profile photo must be a live camera capture of your own face — gallery uploads do not count. Anyone can report a poster who has not camera-verified their face photo.
2. Declare landlord or agent
Every listing must state whether you are the landlord or an agent (middle man). Agents must say who pays the fee (landlord or renter) and how much. Hidden fees are not allowed.
3. Keep listings accurate
Post only real rooms with your own photos, correct location, price and contact number. Mark a listing Rented as soon as it is taken — rented listings are deleted automatically after one week.
4. Be respectful
No harassment, discrimination, offensive content, spam or duplicate listings.
5. Respect other people's privacy
Contact details are shown to signed-in members only. Never re-post someone else's phone number, photos or details without permission.
6. Reports and suspensions
You can report a listing by category — fake listing, unverified face photo, scam, already rented, wrong information, offensive content or spam. Three faulty-listing reports suspend a listing automatically, and the owner can appeal to an admin.
7. Blog and announcements
The monthly top performer (based on listings posted and rentals completed) may write one blog post that month. Every post needs admin approval before it appears.
8. Referral program
Share your referral link honestly — fake accounts and spam invites are removed. Tier 3 (30 invites) and above unlocks the print catalog feature.
9. Stay safe
Always view a place in person before committing. Never send a deposit before viewing. MyRoomee does not mediate disputes between users.
10. If rules are broken
Admins may remove or suspend a listing, or block a member's account.
